Maintenance & Servicing

Gate and Barrier automation systems are exposed to all types of weather conditions and in order to maintain there reliability it is strongly recommended to have your system maintained on at least an annual basis or as per the system manufacturers recommended service intervals.

Owners of Automated gates and barriers at commercial and multi-occupancy premises with regular public access are required to ensure that the systems are regularly maintained and that a test is conducted to ensure that the forces applied by the system are within the current health and safety regulations. We use the latest speedforce digital force testing equipment to provide a printed report which states the forces generated by your automation system to ensure that it remains compliant and so that you can show due diligence.
South West Automation Systems can offer a maintenance package to carry out a full service and maintenance check on your residential or commercial automation system where we would carry out the following checks;

  1. System service and maintenance check where any faulty components can be repaired or replaced *1
  2. Lubrication of any mechanical parts as necessary
  3. Inspect and clean all circuitry and components
  4. Testing and diagnostics of safety devices to include detailed system force testing compliance report *2
  5. Adjustments of gate/barrier hardware
  6. Re-alighnment of gate/barrier as necessary
  7. Service includes cost of labour and consumables

*1 Cost of any necessary replacement parts not included unless still covered under the original manufacturers warranty.

*2 All automation systems should be regularly tested to ensure they meet current health & safety regulations

We incorporate the above checks in the following maintenance packages;

Residential automation system maintenance Package

Aimed at low to moderate user entrances with up to 12 operations per day, incorporates all of the above checks in one annual visit.

Commercial automation system maintenance Package

For high traffic entrances, can be tailored to your own specific requirements however usually encapsulates all* the above checks on a 6 monthly basis. (*single annual force test)

Independant Force test compliance check

We can also offer an independent service to just provide a printed report giving detail of your existing automation systems applied forces which is required on an annual basis by current regulations.
